Privacy notice

Last updated 11 October 2026

This notice explains what personal information EL Advisory collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website, to enquiries, and to the work we do for clients.

Who we are

EL Advisory is a trading name of Hainholz Ltd. Registered in England & Wales, company number 14993857. Registered office: Bank House, 6–8 Church Street, Adlington, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 4EX.

Hainholz Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described here. For anything to do with your data, email erik@el-advisory.com.

What we collect

  • If you email us: your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
  • If you book a call: the details you enter in the booking form, such as your name, email address, company and the reason for the call.
  • If you become a client: business contact details for you and your colleagues, and the information needed to agree and invoice the work.
  • When you visit this website: our hosting provider records standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

We do not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers on this website.

Financial and business data we access while working for a client is covered by our engagement terms and a non-disclosure agreement, not by this notice.

Why we use it and our legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a call, and to take steps you ask for before entering into a contract.
  • To deliver the work we have agreed with you and to invoice for it (performance of a contract).
  • To keep business, accounting and tax records we are required to keep by law (legal obligation).
  • To run and secure our business and this website (our legitimate interests, which we balance against your rights).

We will not use your details for marketing unless you have asked us to, and we never sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information with the services we need to run the business, under contracts that require them to protect it. These include our email provider, our call-booking service, our website host (Vercel) and our accounting software. We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where the law requires it.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by contractual safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 12 months after our last contact.
  • Client records: for the length of the engagement and then 6 years, as required for accounting and tax purposes.
  • Website server logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider.

After that, we delete it securely.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you or another organisation in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To do any of this, email erik@el-advisory.com. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at erik@el-advisory.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
